RUN

I just went running- it's AWESOME- I always feel empowered when I am done. I bought some killer new running shoes- I should get them tomorrow. I will be running a fun run next weekend - just a 5k but it will be fun to sport my new shoes. As a 'reward' for running today I'm going to walk some errands tomorrow- it's supposed to be nice. Still mulling over the Garmin options.....

Tried the new lean pocket artichoke and chicken- they are pretty good- they have a creamy white sauce..... 5 points.

It's a Miracle- or maybe not

Well- I actually lost weight this week- I was pretty sure I would gain or maintain- given my pizza indulgence on Saturday night- What this shows me is that when you consider this whole process as a lifestyle change and you take the time to do it right it really becomes ingrained in your brain.... The choices you make are inherantly better. Either that or it's a miracle~

That being said, I am going to start planning the weekend food- my parents will be coming over and I would like to have the menu planned at least- I am going to make a light coffee cake and I think probably my homemade pizza- Saturday is supposed to be really nice so I am thinking about grilling some turkey burgers (Roni has a great recipe) and some corn on the cob- and maybe using the Hungry Girl strawberry shortcake recipe from today. It will be fun!

WI day

Today is my meeting day- I think I may maintain or gain.... I was sick last week and didn't exercise much and then ate too much pizza this weekend- it was homemade so less than store bought but still.... (note to self- drink only 1 glass of wine- with the second comes permission to overeat!) -

I forced myself to go exercise yesterday- I really do enjoy it but sometimes if it get's too late in the day I can talk myself into not going.....

The weather is improving and with that will come more outdoor running- yeah! I feel very empowered when I do this. There is a 5k next weekend that I may run for fun.... I'm THINKING about a 1/2 marathon in October. Right now it's just a consideration. We'll see how serious I am after I get my new running shoes.

Back in Business

TGIF! Well- I made it through the stomach flu and am feeling better. Just in time for the weekend slew of activities. I will probably try to exercise today- start gently .....

I am not sure what is on the slate for Mother's day- I know for sure I will be getting a bevy of gifts from the kids (THANK YOU SCHOOL TEACHERS) ...

Other than that we are doing chores, running errands, fitting in time for Family Fun night at the school etc..... oh and WNTW (AKA What Not to Wear) - the girls and I are certified aholics ....... It's our favorite show after Ugly Betty- which is hands down the best show on TV right now!

Eating has been fine (I've been sick)- no exercise, but catching up on sleep and feeling much better. AS I mentioned before I am splurging on myself for Mothers Day (My husband is not quite keen to this holiday - and will be buying a Garmin so I can start to track my distances running and also I saw a FAB pair of nike running shoes- spendy but they are orange- that sounds totally vain but it's my favorite color so I will be picking up a pair of those as well! ) - That's what I get for 4 of those little suckers (aka kids) .....

Starting to find more interesting blogs - it's funny how people are so different and yet the same - we all have an individual story to tell- I find it fascinating that people are all out there blogging away and they just don't know the people they touch or inspire - So here's to all the weight loss, maintenance, Mom and foodie blogs!

Home sick

What an easy way to diet- home with the stomach flu today. Feeling better and REALLY glad I stayed home. I may actually eat dinner although I hardly ate today.

I am thinking about ways to challenge myself in the exercise arena- I'm getting a Garmin so I can actually start tracking my distance and push myself further.

I also need to work on beefing up my blog with my food finds and recipes.... I want to share this with all my fellow weight watchers in my meeting and anyone else who might find something they didn't know about or a little inspiration. The blogs I read daily are something I look forward to and always keep things in perspective for me.

Victory @ Weight Watches

I went to my Weight Watchers meeting today and had a loss- yeah! Maintaining my goal.... still have about 5 lbs to get to my personal goal but I will get there. Bigger victory than on the scale was all the feedback I got from people - wanting my phone # and email to exchange info, share ideas.... it's nice to know that people look to you for knowledge and that what you are saying is making people think. I am considering joining WW's as a leader.

Friday night letdown and Saturday morning recovery

After my 3 outdoor runs for the week I was feeling pretty good last night, so good that I had an extra beer, extra chips and an EXTRA large piece of pie (it was weight watchers but still!)- I felt so stuffed afterward, I have to figure out how to overcome the weekends- mostly friday nights....
I did wake up early Saturday though and finish the pizza dough I was making for dinner, and also made a batch of pretty good pb&j muffins (i made them a little healthier....) - i calculated the points- 6 kind of high but it's good to know and I won't be eating them daily. i'm always looking for healthy snacks for the kids and any alternative to something that comes out of a box.....

I may or may not get out to take the dog for a walk today- my youngest has the stomach flu and my oldest has a bad cold and a knee injury - so I'm home today nursing illnesses. If I don't get out with the dog I will try a ballet dvd and also do a bunch of cooking for the week.

Since it's starting to get warmer - finally... I'm thinking about getting some of my spring/summer clothes out and some for the kids too.... Have a great day!
